This event marked the first time in 15 years that the conference had been hosted in Tokyo, following its previous Tokyo edition in 2010. The conference took place at The Westin Tokyo and was attended by 209 participants from 55 countries and regions, including representatives from Kreston Global member firms worldwide as well as colleagues from the Kreston Global Head Office in the United Kingdom. As one of the host firms, six representatives from Yaesu Audit & Co., including Advisor Mr. Tsutomu Saito and Chairman Mr. Takashi Watanabe, attended the conference and actively participated in its proceedings.

The main theme of the 2025 conference was “The evolution and practical application of AI.” Alongside plenary sessions, a broad range of specialist sessions and regional breakouts were held, covering areas such as audit, tax, financial services, and firm management. Participants engaged in active discussions on the latest industry trends, practical challenges, and initiatives aimed at enhancing quality across professional services.
During the plenary sessions, Ms. Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, delivered a keynote speech highlighting the attractiveness of Japan’s investment environment. This was followed by insightful presentations on various topics, including quality improvement through Kaizen, as well as the practical application of AI and automation in professional services.

In the audit-focused sessions, lectures and discussions were conducted on topics including:
- Quality improvement through Root Cause Analysis
- Enhancing audit quality and minimizing audit risk through IT audit
- The use of AI tools to improve audit efficiency and quality
- M&A trends in the accounting and professional services industry
Beyond the formal program, participants enjoyed a variety of networking and cultural events, including a “Sumo” introduction event led by active professional sumo wrestlers, a formal gala dinner at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, and a social networking event in Roppongi, all of which provided valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships among member firms from around the world.

The Kreston Global World Conference 2025 served as a meaningful platform for gaining insights into the future of accounting and audit in the AI era, while also reinforcing the strength of the global Kreston network.
